During a root canal, we use local anesthesia to numb the tooth and its surrounding area to ensure you don’t feel any pain during your treatment. After entering the tooth and clearing out the canals, Dr. Mularczyk will remove the infected pulp before sanitizing the inner layer and fill it with gutta-percha, a biocompatible substance that replaces the removed portion of the tooth.
When finished, Dr. Mularczyk will seal the tooth to lower the potential risk of future reinfection before having a custom-made dental crown crafted. When ready, it will fit over the treated tooth so that it looks like your natural teeth, feels comfortable, and allows you to eat and speak normally.
